2006 350z Install

Everything taken out - too lazy to take the center console out all the way

I have a thing for quick disconnects, makes me feel like i could take it out if i want, but solder is the way to go. I actually used too big of a quick tap for my nitrous gauge and had to redo it again, so i just soldered it.

My new setup, my pioneer was giving me problems, but it was a great headunit for the 6 years I had it.

I put the nitrous pressure gauge sender directly into the bottle, so that i don't have to open the bottle to monitor the pressure.

Where I purge out of. What do you guys think? Does it look out of place, would you be able to tell thats not part of the car, or does it look like just a vent tube of some sort.

I had dual purge, but i thought that was a waste and too much more trouble, so I changed back to single purge

So basically, my switch panel will not get power without pressing this switch on my headunit first. It's just an extra safety just in case my dad uses my car while I am in Iraq, don't want him accidently using the juice. I won't have the bottle or anything in, but who knows, lol.

Very nice install, professional quality no doubt. I too use quick disconnects every where. the thing is, your right at some point in time we always need to disconnect, it never fails, lol. On my heaters I put it thru the ignition so if I leave it on the key acts as a master sw and turns it off. I need to look thru your pics more as there is mucho info to be had. thanks for sharing.

Very clean setup! You actually have to look to see that the car is on spray

Thanks! I had more pictures, big pictures, but my hard drive crashed and I couldn't recover them, these are on my photobucket but they aren't as big as the original ones. I am ditching the heater and hopefully my nano 4500 fits in the glove compartment also. I am planning a peltier setup to cool the nitrous and just have that attached to my heater switch instead. I'll also have a remote temp so I can see the temp of the glove box. Never thought I would be cooling nitrous instead of heating it, lol.

I had a friend who is a nissan tech look around my car and asked him what I had, couldn't figure out that I had nitrous at all, it was great, lol.

I have a bolt on soluition for the over pressure issue that can happen with NANO. Not that it is really a problem as we can just purge it off, or throw a cool wet towel on it. This will just make it a more hands off set-up which we all look for. coming in the weeks to follow.

They should have the same engine besides some little tweaks here and there. vq35, i think if it is a 2002+ it should have the same engine, thats what nissan did, use the same engine for a lot of vehicles, supposedly saved them from failure.

I should have sprayed it in the short while it was in my possession.

Actual Bottle:

Compared to a 10lb bottle:

Anti-reversion valve. Prevents nitrous entering the NANO kit, but allows the NANO kit to enter nitrous bottle:

Mounts, allows you to mount through the bottle brackets:

How it would look:

A temperature sticker, when its green, good to go, red, no go.

Sticker on my bottle:

A couple stickers:

Instruction Manual, pretty easy to understand:

Open/Close handle

Connects to the top, has a seal on it:

How it looks together:

Fill Port. This is where you get it filled, make sure you don't fill it anywhere else or it might mess up the regulator:

Braided SS line, the npt side connects to the NANO and the AN side to the nitrous.

Anything that needs to be screwed on has thread sealant on it already:

Bottle and SS line together:

Your bottle should have an accessory port on it. Some do, some don't so make sure you check, nano sells a universal valve that you can replace yours if you don't have a port:

Here is how i connected mine, it will still allow me to check the nitrous pressure without having to open the bottle. It will give me the right reading as long as the nano isn't open either, it might hinder the performance a little bit, but i would really like to see my nitrous pressure without having to open the bottle. what do you guys think?

How it looks like on:

Final Product:

Here it is. It fits fine in the glove box, just a little playing around with, have to figure out whats the best way to get everything in and out, it was a little annoying but it works. Sorry it is such a mess in there, been removing wires and stuff.

Here my glove box closed

I am not sure if I will continue with my peltier setup to cool the nitrous bottle, i'll see if i can figure an easy way to do it. So with NANO, instead of fighting cold, you will be fighting heat, but since it is in the glove box, i don't think it will be too much of a problem, but I will use a peltier unit just in case. I forgot the reason why you want it to be cool instead of hot. I got to figure out how to mount it with a metal band and a way to make it easy to put on and off.

Only sprayed 50 shot without nano. Waiting to buy more parts, hopefully i finish by summer time, money always a problem. I plan to shot 150. I just got a microedge to replace my old window switch, i will probably use my old window switch for meth injection. Lots of plans, lots of plans!

That is a great spot for mounting your bottles. Can I use them in my NANO install pictorial on my site? You get named for credit and will add a little explanation of what/when/where on your car. This section is great for getting ideas on ones mount options, and yours is the most unique I have seem yet.

On the heat issue and NANO, really we only need to worry about heat once the bottle gets over 90°/95°. At 85° it is about 950psi dynamic and 1050psi static, and 95° is about 1050psi dynamic and about 1150psi static.

The NANO is pre-set at 1050 static and 950 dynamic. So once you get past this point with more pressure (increased temp) you will flow more nitrous with the same jets, and go a little leaner. Now, dependent on your sprayed a/f ratio, will slightly leaner be an issue? Usually it is not. The easiest way to get back to the pressure you want is to simply purge some pressure off. Some don't want to waste any valuable N2O so they use a wetted towel or ice packs of some sort.

Seldom if ever do we see our bottles in the NW get this hot. We must leave them in the direct Sunlight to do so. I run bottle blankets to insulate from the Sun and have never had to purge off in my Vettes and that has been years and hundreds of passes. Now in Texas or Florida it may be different and happen easier?
Robert

EDIT #1: Oh yea, the Peltier idea is fine, however, they are really wimpy and take a long time to do anything. So if you realize the pressure is to high prior to a run, it will not cool fast enough. But I suppose, since you know how to rig a Peltier, that you would have it automatic. The NX unit is the one I refer to, and the slow factor is the reason it never has caught on, IMO. They just don't have enough power to cool even a 10lb bottle, IMO.

EDIT #2: check this out for your approval. the first install on my new page, lol. All the others will be moved to this section as i get time, but for now are at the bottom of the NANO Kits page.
